- Abstract
My research is on risk management in drinking water utilities. Specifically, I look at how workplace culture, utility resources, regulations, and operational practices influence risk management in Canadian drinking water utilities. Through my research I get to work closely with operators and other staff at the utility. I noticed some tension between operators and engineers and decided to try and create a curriculum around it for the Just & Equitable Teaching (JET) micro credential that I took in the fall of 2024. I hope that by applying concepts from the course, this curriculum idea would be a step towards building empathy and understanding between engineers and operators.
