Discipline-specific initiatives or support groups that exist to specifically serve international students are in short supply among CU’s current academic infrastructure. International students face unique challenges as they progress through their degree programs, from societal and cultural adaptation to navigating educational visa requirements. I seek to give these students a voice, and to bring the awareness of these challenges to STEM department leaders so that together we can generate systematic supports and cultivate a more equitable learning environment.
