- Abstract
The ability to monitor cellular processes at high resolution using genetically encodable fluorescent protein tags and sensors has revolutionized life science research. In particular, several super-resolution imaging techniques take advantage of the phenomenon of stochastic fluorescent protein blinking. Here we present a method for measurement and analysis of the blinking behavior of red fluorescent proteins. This project contributes to the characterization of crucial photophysical parameters of fluorescent proteins used for super-resolution imaging techniques.
