  • The ditstillation of oil from shales on an industrial basis has been hindered by the rapid and extensive development of petroleum wells. Now that a limitation of the future supply of oils by wells is foreseen, attention is be directed to the commercial posslbilities of bituminous
    shales as a source of petroleum fuels.
