Abstract
  • The purpose of this survey was to investigate how the transition to the new cataloging instructions, RDA: Resource Description and Access, has been handled in the one hundred largest US public libraries, specifically examining whether catalogers believe some of the major goals of RDA have been met and how some of the anticipated impacts of RDA implementation have been dealt with. A large majority have adopted RDA for original cataloging, but respondents also generally believe RDA has failed to meet some of its most important goals, primarily ease of use and cost-effectiveness.
