Abstract
In 1981, Spain's fascist dictator has been dead several years, leaving a vacuum of power. Four university students leave their provincial city the night before their final exams, trying to get to Madrid for the Communist party's protests. Once the hash and boxed wine wears off, they realize they have done something irrevocable, more than just missing their exams and burning their possessions in a bonfire. They have stepped into a space without rules, that they could not return from even if they tried. Narrated by Mosca, a young woman whose brother, Alexis, has recently disappeared and is presumed dead, Las Moscas follows the four students as they enter this space of their creation but not under their control.
