Units associated the data collected with LA-ICP-MS:
Major chemical elements (i.e. SiO2, Al2O3, MgO, CaO*, MnO, FeO): wt. %.
Minor and trace elements: ug/g.
*A fixed calcium abundance (24.5 wt% CaO) was used for internal standardization, which is consistent with the minimal variation of the Mg/Ca and Fe/Ca ratios in the studied dolomites.


Eu/Eu* = EuSN / (0.5SmSN + 0.5GdSN); Ce/Ce* =  CeSN / ((0.5 x LaSN) + (0.5 x PrSN)); Pr/Pr* = PrSN / ((0.5 x CeSN) + (0.5 x NdSN)) [Post Archean Average Shale (PAAS)-normalized (Taylor and McLennan 1985)].


n.d. - not detected. Critical values for detection were computed using the square root test for the equality of two Poisson means set at a 5% nominal rate of false positive errors (e.g., Ulianov et al., 2016).
