Abstract
  • My thesis is ultimately an exploration of my development and role as a woman. Females are often found in between stages of subject and object. A woman’s sexuality ultimately trumps her individuality and context, revealing the body’s power to seal the focus from the woman as an individual. A woman’s sexuality can transform her into an object, and she becomes nothing more. In the paper and images provided, I establish the differences between woman as subject versus woman as object. I explore the process of becoming a woman, and the way children misconstrue the meaning of growing up. By catching the woman in between stages of subject and object, I bring attention to sexualilty’s ability to deteriorate the multiplicities of a woman.
