Abstract
  • This paper explores the impact of inflation volatility on economic growth rates in the G7 set of countries. We measure inflation volatility using three methods: rolling windows, GARCH, and GARCH with controlling for price change rates for a barrel of oil. Our findings indicate that higher inflation volatility is predicted to raise GDP growth rates, while higher inflation is expected to lower GDP growth rates.
