- Abstract
- The focus of this thesis is to research and suggest a program that helps improve the empathetic bedside manner skills in medical doctors. Empathetic bedside manner can lead to many positive results in patient satisfaction, compliance, and overall health outcomes. Applied theatre can be an effective way to teach and work with medical doctors on their bedside manner skills. It is also important to demonstrate that the study of medicine is about more than physical and biological science, and incorporates many important disciplines and social sciences, such as psychology.
