- Abstract
This thesis is an analysis of the relationship between the Indigenous Tribes of California and State and Federal organizations as it pertains to Land management and conservation projects. Western scientists, with the backing of colonial history and privilege, far too often "inflict" conservation on Indigenous peoples as opposed to collaborating with them. When considering conservation actions, it is imperative to prioritize Indigenous values and history as it pertains the the Land.
