Abstract
  • The artistic memory of Paul Gauguin’s work has left a lasting impression on the global view of Tahiti. His mythical depictions of a utopic paradise and his stories of willing women are still remembered. This work explores how colonialism affected the art forms of Tahiti and how, due to their unique history they have created a new ‘tradition’ that can be understood and live on for generations to come.
