- Abstract
- The prirrary contribution here is the delineation of ''object," "process," "event," and "state of affairs" as purely formal and systematically interrelated concepts (analogous, for example, to "addition," "subtraction," "multiplication," and "division"). The formal character is shown by presenting in content-free form the interrelationships arrong the four in the form of "transition rules" for moving from one of the four forms of description, e.g., an "object" description, to another description of a different form, e.g. , a "process" description.
