Abstract
  • Through a fellowship with the Colorado University Libraries, I have collaborated on the design of an online curriculum to engage undergraduate students with skills, dispositions, and questions relevant to our information-saturated present and future. This poster is a summary of the project and its guiding principle, intellectual humility. The curriculum intends to foster an expanded version of humility in students, one that is outward as well as inward looking. Humility entails accurate evaluation not only of the knowledge that we already possess, but also of the information that surrounds us. Students must understand their positions within limited information landscapes, and learn how to expose voices that are absent. In this way, intellectual humility must be an active value, a value within and without.
