The Carter lake area includes approximately thirty
square miles along the foothills of the Front Range of
northern Colorado, between the Big Thompson and Little
Thompson Creeks. More definitely the area includes sections
22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, east 1/4 sections 28 and
33 of Township 5 north, range 70 west; and sections 1, 2,
3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, and the north 1/2 sections 21, 22,
23, and 24 of Township 4 north, range 70 west. Carter
lake is located in the west central part of the area.
