The area in which these studies were made is located in tne northeastern part of the State of New Mexico, in l!J. ti tude 35°30' to 35°45' N. and longitude 107°55' to 108°40' W. The area includes about 600 square miles lying in McKinley County northeast of the town of Gallup.
