Analysis of Key Informant Interviews and Discussion of Emerging Technologies in the Improvement of Water Management in Colorado Public Deposited
- Abstract
This thesis presents a series of key informant interviews with a variety of stakeholders in Colorado water including state legislatures, indigenous tribes, engineers, and water conservancy district managers. Methods and analysis of the key informant interviews are described as an integral piece of the report funded by House Bill 21-1268. In response to data gaps and challenges highlighted by this analysis, this thesis also explores a series of case studies discussing emerging technologies that may assist in the monitoring and management of Colorado water. Each case study was chosen based on its potential to address the challenges illuminated in stakeholder conversations and applications of groundwater monitoring, snowpack modeling, and streamflow forecasting tools are discussed.
