Abstract
  • Tandem papers by researchers based at the Reason Foundation ask, respectively, whether levels of student misbehavior range lower in Pennsylvania charter schools compared with traditional public schools, and whether the competitive threat from new charters alters how public school principals in Texas allocate campus budgets. Overall, the authors pose provocative questions about the possible advantages of charter schools, worth testing empirically, while falling short in building evidence to back their claims.
