Statistical comparisons between convective environments during the 2018 - 2019 RELAMPAGO - CACTI field campaign Public Deposited
- Abstract
A table of the 70 variables examined from the convective initiation (CI), failed initiation (Fail), and non-initiating despite forecasts of CI by the WRF-CAMs (Null) environmental soundings from the RELAMPAGO-CACTI project documented by Nelson et al. (2020). This document comprises of all abbreviated variable names (‘variable’ column), variable descriptions (‘variable_long’ column), units (‘units’ column), mean values for all 70 variables for CI, Fail, and Null soundings (‘CI’, ‘Fail’, and ‘Null’ columns), and flags for two-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test significance at the 95% confidence level (‘SS-a’, ‘SS-b’, and ‘SS-c’ columns). Variables with distributions that are statistically different are denoted with a letter to indicate the comparison that is statistically significant (SS): b is a SS difference between CI and Fail parameters; c is a SS difference between CI and Null parameters; and, d is a SS difference between Null and Fail parameters. For each variable, the largest mean value for any given parameter is colored red and the smallest mean value is colored blue.
