- Abstract
- This thesis describes a framework to anonymize social media applications, like Facebook. It takes into consideration the users’ desire for personalized content while maintaining privacy in a way that would not negatively affect the applications. The framework, named Whoville, acts as a middleman between Facebook and its apps: distributing meaningful anonymous profiles instead of private ones. This thesis describes how Whoville is built and how it works, in an attempt to demonstrate how Facebook might successfully implement a similar framework.
